Breckland and the Broads

Starting in the beautiful Breckland and travelling into the magic of the Broads, we will spend the day looking for:

  • Hawfinches, Crossbills and Bramblings,
  • Magnificent Common Cranes,
  • Raptors including Hen Harrier and Merlin.

In late-Winter and early-Spring we will also look for displaying Goshawks, Lesser-Spotted Woodpecker, and returning Woodlarks down in the Brecks.

We will generally end the day at the atmospheric raptor watch point at Hickling NWT looking out over the marshland towards Horsey Mill and Waxham Dunes in anticipation of roosting Cranes, Marsh and Hen Harriers, Merlin and flocks of Pink-footed Geese passing overhead at dusk
